PREVALENCE AND FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH ANXIETY IN HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AT THE FRONT LINE OF A HOSPITAL IN ALTO VALE DO ITAJAÍ IN COPING WITH COVID-19
Abstract
Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the prevalence and factors associated with anxiety among health professionals at the front line of the hospital regional do alto vale in coping with COVID-19. Methods: This work consists of a cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive and analytical study, and the application site will be the hospital regional do alto vale. Scales were used to assess anxiety commonly used in the field of psychiatry and the professionals interviewed are the staff of doctors, nurses, nursing technicians, pharmacists, psychologists and speech therapists who work at the hospital regional do alto vale. A scale called the Beck Anxiety Inventory was used, in addition to several other questions regarding the interviewees' lifestyle habits, and a subsequent statistical analysis was performed to reach conclusions. Results: Several statistically significant predictors of worsening anxiety were found, namely: gain of more than 5% in weight, increased workload, quality of sleep after the onset of the pandemic, napping during the day, and being a health care technician nursing. Statistically significant predictor variables of anxiety attenuation were also found, namely: Working at dawn, and being a practitioner of physical activity before the onset of the pandemic.
