PSYCHOTIC DEPRESSION ASSOCIATED WITH POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS: CASE STUDY
Abstract
Objective: To analyze the evolution and describe a case of diagnosis of psychotic depression associated with post-traumatic stress, since there is little research on this association that represents a daily challenge in the psychiatric medical clinic. Case description: This is a descriptive study based on the clinical conditions and evolution of the studied patient, with follow-up until the diagnosis is closed. After analysis and monitoring of the patient, the diagnosis of psychotic disorder associated with post-traumatic stress was closed and drug therapy associated with psychological monitoring was instituted, as recommended by the literature. Conclusion: It was possible to observe that the conduct taken resulted in a significant improvement in the diagnosed condition and allowed a complete resocialization of the patient.
