Abstract

Introduction: AVE appears as a limiting factor in the quality of life, in view of this that paper aims to observe the relationship between the degree of motor impairment and perceived quality of life after stroke. Methods: We evaluated 19 patients affected by stroke in chronic phase by using the protocol of neurological assessment; Fugl - Meyer scale (FMS) and the Nottingham Health Profile. Data were analyzed using Graph Pad Prism program 5:01. Results: Mean age was 58.5 ± 14.4, mostly male (78.9 %). The FSM reflected a level of severe motor impairment while the PSN showed a good perception of quality of life. The Spearman test revealed a lack of correlation between the variables degree of motor impairment, and perceived quality of life ( r = 0.1020 ). Conclusion: we found a lack of relationship between the degree of motor impairment and perceived quality of life .
