Possible contributions from psychoanalysis to the educator’s formation and classroom work are considered. Some concepts of Freud and Lacan are reviewed seeking the articulation “desire to know – transference” essential to the teacher-student relationship. Finally, the way in which this link would be possible is questioned, once the occidental contemporary subject is constituted as crossed by the individualistic perspective.
